Great thread, from my experience with Chinese games is that they do not shy beign heavy on lore and since a lot of it can be unfamillair if you aren't used to Wuxia so its better to actually take some notes. It doesn't help that many also have the tendency to dump that lore a lot early on.

I think the figure of the public intellectual was a thing of the past century, they had their place in a liberal society but they were also intrinsicly tied in its games of power and influence. I think its better we have philosphers and people who "translate them" than all in one.

Games are more enjoyable when you allow yourself to discover them with child-like wonderment instead of listening to what other adults hace to say about them 😉
