Last month I attended the @hsj.co.uk Patient Safety Congress where I had the opportunity to listen to @drmattmorgan.bsky.social beautifully deliver the James Reason lecture. Just finished the audiobook of Critical, in which I found more beautiful, moving accounts of what it is to work in an ITU 👏🏻❤️👏🏻

Gotta love how US TV shows portray the consequences of inadvertent human error in hospital Never Events. One mistake = getting fired. So much for restorative and just cultures! 🙄 #chicagomed #patientsafety

Definitely my two favourite speakers yesterday at the #HSJ Patient Safety Congress were Dr Matt Morgan delivering the James Reason lecture and @marydixonwoods.bsky.social x2 covering both challenges to safety system leaders and organisational degradation. Spot on!

That's one way to reduce waiting lists. Simply pay hospitals to remove people from the list. What could go wrong 🤷

And for all that the NHS is under pressure, creaking and not without issue, at least you’ll never be put in a position like this! Denied coverage for life saving treatment because ‘bureaucracy’ 🚩🚩🚩
