Temperatures hit 60F today so I decided to check on the hives. We do get chilly in NorCal but not cold enough to stop brood production. This hive's queen has stated on her spring brood production. The left half of the frame, with most of the bees, is where the brood is. The right is honey

I won't be here for the completion of the mandala, but this was the progress from last night's empowerment ceremony. It's absolutely fascinating to watch it come together a few grains of sand at a time.

When I get up early to row, I struggle to get enough food in me. I've been on a crash course of protein bars and I think the clear winner is the Mezcola Puff-Crispy Bar. Specifically the Mexican hot chocolate. 8/10 would fuel me again.
