7 months ago, he was a starving stray that arrived in my neighborhood. Scrawny and desperate for food.
Yesterday he turned up his nose at the freeze dried shrimp treats (that he got IN HIS EASTER BASKET, mind you) and refused to eat supper until I removed the offending shellfish.

Got to use my new pot tonight and I'm SO thrilled with it. Started by roasting a chicken, then threw all the scraps back in (plus some more scraps from the freezer) and made a good stock that I'll use for soup this weekend. What a joy.

My son has been testing the limits of my sewing abilities lately, but I passed today's test. His sleeping bag zipper had separated in two different spots along the foot. Zippers have always scared me but I did it! Now he's ready for the ice fishing trip this week.

Does anyone have any insights as to what's going on with #USPS, particularly in Indianapolis? This is the second time in a month I've had a package get stuck there for an entire week. The fuck is Dejoy up to over there?? I haven't had issues with packages or mail from other locations.

Getting ready for mushroom season 2025 by repairing my best basket. The lid broke last summer and I've never done any basket repair before, but I finally tackled it and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It's not perfect but I think it'll do the job. Now I wait 3+ months to use it lol.

I can't wait. I found some incredible new spots towards the end of last season, so now I need to hit them up for a full season and see how crazy they get 🤩

There's a lot going on today so I'll just share this painting my daughter did today. She's 11, we got her an easel for Christmas and she's improving every day. When she had it sketched out in pencil I heard her mutter "this looks so stupid but I know it'll turn out" and she was right!

One of my favorite things hubs always includes in my stocking. Super useful on nights he's gone ice fishing and I can't steal his body heat.

Jasper's first appearance on bluesky! We're coming up on 3 months since he adopted us, and today the fireplace was on for the first time and he's very interested. He's very grateful not to be out in the single-digit weather for another Minnesota winter!

One of the most deserved awards ever. I will never get over how incredible this race was. The only thing I would change about it would be to put it earlier in the schedule so the rest of the team could feed off it, because it was so electric and inspiring.
