After a metric fuckton of friggin around here it is. 518/583 exposures accepted by Siril, registered and stacked. Stretched and processed it to the best of my very limited ability. Pretty happy with it as the stars of the Pleiades really stand out along with a tiny bit of detail from merope nebula

I’ve got my first #astrophotography composition baking in Siril right now looking forward to how it turns out. 583 2.5 second exposures for a total of 24.3 minutes integration (didn’t plan just sat outside with my camera until I couldn’t stand the cold anymore)

I picked up a new lens for birding, it’s got a little more reach than my former main but the big seller is the sharpness. It’s a prime so the optical elements don’t move to the same degree as a zoom so they can be more finely tuned (though as tech advances that gap is getting smaller)

Sorry but this thread has awakened some memories 😂. This day sticks out in my mind because it started out as one of those classic, sticky snow maritime nor’easters that was a nightmare to work in but eventuality cleared and cooled off to a really nice (for winter) late afternoon/evening
