Instead of deporting undocumented, tax-paying immigrants by using the IRS, why not create a legal path to status for them? They paid over $96 billion in taxes in 2022 alone. With a real path to legal status and without ICE breathing down their necks, they would contribute even more.

I still think one of the big lessons of Wall Street’s support for a white man who told everyone he was going to do exactly this over a Black woman who is a pro-business Democrat is the obvious racism & sexism of many men on Wall Street that it lays bare.
