The entire conceit of the movie revolves around aliens attacking data centers and knocking out satellites and worldwide blackouts etc. but because the entire premises hinges on taking place on Ice Cube's computer none of this impacts his ability do anything at all

I think even under this definition the new war of the worlds managed to actually qualify as having substantial plot holes. mostly through a seeming complete lack of understanding of how most technology works
