This is not a AI slop.

To commemorate the first time I actually (knowingly) "liked" an (obviously) generated "AI slop" video today ... with mixed feelings!

📣 Germany's close to reversing its opposition to mass surveillance & private message scanning, & backing the Chat Control bill. This could end private comms-& Signal-in the EU.

Time's short and they're counting on obscurity: please let German politicians know how horrifying their reversal would be.
We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

Global warming reaches +1.5 °C this year and +2°C around 2037

Using a 15-year linear or 30-year nonlinear extrapolation.

As global warming has accelerated, using a 30-year linear extrapolation is not the right approach to assess the state of the climate.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

A bit longer than your typical keynote, but I hope decently up to speed and perhaps of interest for those interested in personalized health and prevention. There have certainly been more straightforward times for considering what will happen / be most relevant next though! #digitalhealth #ai

@searchliaison.bsky.social Please give a clear pathway to choice when searching between a) traditional web search only, b) AI response, c) both ... AI on nearly every search is wasteful and results in cluttered UI!

#ChatGPT #4o new #ImageGen trying to help us make sense of the weirdness of latent space ... quite on point, although the laws of physics arguably still govern even most complex computational realizations within the substrate of our universe ... right?

This result keeps showing up in studies.

GPT-4 does a good job on patient care tasks, better than the mean doctor, but doctor-AI teams do not outperform AI alone. Figuring out how to gain more when human & AI work together needs to be a bigger priority in integrating AI into work

Goes beyond MMWR +other CDC pubs. Applies to research already submitted to top medical journals.

Take a look.
