I’ve also never been called a Karen - not yet anyway…

But someone could call you a Karen for that response. It would be wrong of them to do it, but it’s often applied to “women with opinions”.

It’s a term used to silence women of a certain age. It’s pejorative and sexist.

You can have an incredibly smart and well-educated person who would struggle with both…..if they’re dyslexic.

Genuine question: have we ever had a more qualified chancellor? Brown and Kwarteng studied history, Major left school when he was 15, Lawson and Hunt have PPE degrees (like Reeves).

With respect, the voices missing from this, as from so much of the media discussions on this, are those of the terminally ill. I hope my husband’s letter to our MP, asking for support to die with dignity and love, will have more weight than those from folk who are not facing the shit choices he is.

As far as I’m concerned, anyone with two degrees in economics is an economist. I’m glad that someone who understands sunk costs, opportunity costs, externalities and counterfactuals is in that role.

I was an economist at the BoE at the same time as she worked there. She was an economist. I walked past her desk a few times a day. I read notes she wrote. Attended the same meetings. The last time I wrote this on Twitter someone replied 'you supported masks and lockdown'.

Is there a Twitter one somewhere showing the opposite?

My understanding is that Rachel Reeves has two degrees in economics and has worked at a number of financial institutions including the Bank of England. Is any of that wrong? Has there been a more qualified Tory chancellor?

I moved the position of the icons and imposed a time limit on Twitter to stop me going in on autopilot. Now fully deactivated.
