we had some rotation pass over montpelier and maybe make a tiny funnel. no damage at my location though.

sorry but you are going to have to settle for sarracenia buds and bog bean. the ferns aren’t big here yet.
May 15, 2025 at 1:13 PM
shady rill in middlesex raging too. the rain stopped and the level of wrightsville isn’t too high downstream so i don’t think there will be worse flooding this time.

after two bizarro climate change winters , it’s nice to have a somewhat old school winter, at least here.
January 28, 2025 at 2:41 AM
if you’ve lived in a cold place you know what this blue hued sky means in mid january. basically the opposite of what you’d otherwise expect.

Here's one of my favorite things i made during my autism diagnosis process. I know it's a big hard to read, but it's a flow chart of how my imposter syndrome worked, and it turns out most people who discover they are autistic in adulthood go through a similar process

today’s alberta clipper has been a bit of a dud so far. we may get some snow squalls later but i don’t see much on radar. so just a new inch on top of the couple of inches from the last week. it’s beautiful though.
December 5, 2024 at 4:28 PM
it also funnels up the Winooski River valley which cuts right through the Green Mountains. the mountains also block the radar so it’s hard to say much but this radar image suggests the snow is funneling right up the valley. bolton flats is probably getting heavy snow now. @radarscope
December 2, 2024 at 2:28 PM
i’m east of a mountain ridge in a valley and the mountains get more snow than us as mountains do, but when the wind and inversions set up just right the mountain snow blows over and settles in this hollow and it’s always the nicest fluffiest fluff.
December 2, 2024 at 2:26 PM
colorful wintry sky a couple of days ago
December 1, 2024 at 6:03 PM
the snow has started in montpelier! the forecasts and maps haven’t really been consistent nor have the weather models but it looks like we are in for 2-5 inches with possibly more if it’s cold and fluffy and less if it switches to rain for a while. either way it’s very pretty.
November 28, 2024 at 1:53 PM
it’s less than we’ve usually gotten this time of year but even a light dusting of snow changes the color palette of the whole world around you. we are likely to get a bit more tomorrow, though not as likely to get the 6+ inch dump some weather models we’re forecasting a few days ago.

precip winding down and temperatures rising but we got enough to give things a silvery hue and create some tiny icicles.
