got to go to the cutest art market yesterday that my friend sofi put on where every artist there had a little craft you could participate in. I made a mini terrarium and designed a bag charm!

and then you tell non-artists that you literally know somebody in a creative industry (in this case copywriting) who was fired & the company now has ch@t gpt do the work they had been doing, and most people are like :) I’m sure that’s unrelated :) anyway here’s me as a ghibli character :)
Art is never going to offer great financial security (barring the lucky few) but it was possible to at least cover monthly bills for many full-time artists, in a pinch. Seeing more and more people talk about big drop-offs in print sales or hired work, or having to give up art entirely, is worrying.

yesterday me & chad went to the art supply store to get his mom some good watercolor paper as a Mother’s Day gift since she’s been getting into watercolor lately. anyway apparently an employee overheard me yapping to him about the difference between hot & cold press and thought I worked there too 💀

people using genAI because they "didn't go to art school, it's too late to learn" : I didn't go to art school, I went back to drawing at 27 and now, 7 years later, drawing is my job cause I worked my ass off learning & practising

I finished the bag this weekend and I’m really proud of it but I just realized that I didn’t get any pics of it before I gave it to Rachel besides these incredibly blurry ones I took to see if this 35mm camera still worked.

Was on twitter just now and while looking at the funny reply to a tweet I accidently clicked on a crazy right wing ad that made some “the world is ending” clickbate video open in YouTube. Which is to say I think I might be personally calling it quits for Twitter and spend more time over here now.
