At least when you're having a heart attack, or your wife or daughter needs life-saving care for her or her baby, and you have to travel 100 miles to the nearest hospital, you'll have the peace of mind in knowing that the "illegals" aren't getting free healthcare.

When I say you don’t have to worry about microplastics in your brain I mean that there is much stronger evidence that you should be worrying about other things that you don’t ever think about, like the draining of peatlands for agriculture, and things that you think about all the time, like fascism.

Just placed my first Amazon order all year- for a wedding gift. Honestly, I could be beating myself up about it, but instead, I’ll be glad this was the only purchase I made all quarter.

I have been thinking SO MUCH about the Israelites practically begging God for a king when God didn’t want to give them one and how it led to their destruction. A king that just makes all of the decisions for me seems easier than doing it myself. But this was their downfall and will be ours also.

Unpopular opinion but I don’t mind that January feels slow. Most of life feels too fast to me, so the slowing down is a feature, not a bug.

I’ve ordered my planner for the year but it hasn’t come yet and I am feeling unmoored. I still love a paper planner.

“The three consecutive years of declining homicides come in the wake of a 30% jump in murders between 2019 and 2020, the largest single-year increase in more than a century.”

Trumps, Fox, Marge, etc. all immediately rushed to pin New Orleans on immigrants, and Trump lied about the crime rate — but the suspect was a U.S.-born veteran who grew up in Texas, and the crime rate is down.

In case facts still matter.

The Athens commission passed a resolution to explore ranked choice voting and this will be what I talk about for the foreseeable future. I know it will be struck down by the Georgia legislature, but just happy to see the conversation starting.

Just still perplexed how people are saying inflation is so bad but will spend over $1000 for a football ticket. And I’ve spent a lot of money on a football ticket before.

In Hungary, a key Orbán tactic in dismantling their democracy was that his allies bought media outlets that were critical of the regime and turned them into loyal cheerleaders for the regime.
