IF you like Pacific Rim… and you live in LA… I urge you- wholeheartedly to run to the Academy Museum this 29th and watch it in 3D!!! We spent hundreds upon hundreds of days post converting this film to 3D and its a massive experience- in what may be one of the best film theaters - top!

This is an important thought about LotR, IMO. Good is simply good. People and others have no concept of an afterlife reward for their temporal life. They simply choose Good in the face of Evil because the alternative is the Dying of the Light.
I think LORD OF THE RINGS being a story in which, canonically, it is entirely possible for evil to triumph in the temporal world, and in fact more likely than not that it will, but also that reality should not change the meaning of your moral values, is an underrated part of what makes it so good.

This is an important thought about LotR, IMO. Good is simply good. People and others have no concept of an afterlife reward for their temporal life. They simply choose Good in the face of Evil because the alternative is the Dying of the Light.
