I always thought I wasn’t “ready” for camera—overthinking every word, staying behind the scenes. Last week I hit record anyway. No rehearsals, just me and my work. Broke my shyness, made valuable content. First of many in my #gamedev journey.

This week I recruited a developer to my team on a percentage contract basis. It's always inspiring when someone else recognizes your vision and is willing to contribute to a cause that may not necessarily generate money. #gamedev

Never been much of a coder, more of a #gamedesigner. And so I reside many times to ChatGPT, and it saves my life quite a lot. I always go over the final code to study the logic. It helps me remove the shame surrounding it.
But meh, these are all tools, and they’re there to be used.

This week I’ve been playing with:

1. Infection’s animation single direction
2. Infection’s animation from both sides at the same time
3. Step counter - counts the amount if steps to full layout infection

Things I do when I hit a dead-end and feel #unmotivated to work on my #GameDev #project:
1. Set small, achievable goals in advance
2. Force myself back into the project, or find someone who can
3. Once inside, tread carefully with baby steps aligned to those goals

I was a little #GameDev from a young age. I enjoyed playing #Doom on my #PS1 at the age of 6. And in my spare time I designed custom levels of doom on a grid notebook. With my own definitions of monsters, potions, weapons and ammo - I knew I’d grow up to be a freak, basically. 😅

Sleazemonger's main mechanic relies on solving layouts with limited resources through "infection". Infection is quite misleading! It looks simple but it was quite the challenge to code. I think it deserves some appreciation.
Was it at least satisfying to look at?

Both experienced and inexperienced #gamedev suffer from inevitable scope/feature creep, mostly due to exploration and tackling the unknown. The only way to prevent it is to stand still, but how could one progress anywhere motionless?
