I went on Celtics Beat to talk about Chris Boucher, what people are missing about WHY the Celtics are gonna be bad this season, and what I think about Anfernee Simons and the rest of the C's offseason.

Giannis saying he's not happy about this is ridiculous, by the way. What do you want them to do, man? They just bent over backwards to sign one of the like 3 centers in the league who can play in a lineup with you. Dame wasn't playing this year anyway. If you don't like this, just ask out already.

This is true, BUT I also don’t think the Celtics have given up a single player they are going to want in 2026-27.
Well, anybody who didn't understand how punitive the second apron was should understand it after the last 24 hours of Celtics moves.

It’s true that there is no one right path to contention if you widen the scope of what counts as contention to “appearing in conference finals,” but I really kinda think that has literally always been true.

The fact that 2009 Ben Gordon and Ray Allen are both here 🤯
Most makes to tie or take the lead in the last 90 seconds of the 4th or OT in a single postseason (since 1997):

Tyrese Haliburton - 5 this year
LeBron James – 5 in 2018
Kevin Durant – 5 in 2012
Dirk Nowitzki – 5 in 2011
Ray Allen - 5 in 2009
Ben Gordon – 5 in 2009
John Stockton – 5 in 1997
Tyrese Haliburton is 5-for-6 (83.3%) when taking a shot to tie or take the lead in the final 90 seconds of the 4th or OT this playoffs.

That’s tied for the most such shots in a single postseason since 1997.

So sad to hear about the passing of Alice Notley. No writer had more influence on how I write, what I write, what I care about in writing. I've lived on this page for 20 years. Gonna spend some time there now. writing.upenn.edu/pennsound/x/...

In response to the surging costs of food, top government officials have come up with a wild idea: eat less food.

The gap between Shai and anybody else—including anybody else even on his own team—is pretty insane.

My hot take as someone who has followed the Nuggets very closely for all of Jokic's career is: it's fine.

financial advice in a weird time:

-- develop a plan
-- find friends who support you
-- preferably 10 of them
-- steal $160 million from the Bellagio, the Mirage, and the MGM Grand
-- yes those are Terry Benedict's casinos
-- get your wife back
-- one of the friends should be Don Cheadle btw

Congrats to Melo. I saw him live in 2003 during his magical year at Syracuse, but what I'll always remember is this meaningless game back in 2014 against the Bobcats when he had 62. It's the slowest-paced 60-point game in NBA history as far as I can tell.

Forget backup bigs. He's absolutely a top 20 NBA center right now.
Luke Kornet against the Spurs last night:

✦ 15 points
✦ 16 rebounds (career-high)
✦ 4 assists

He really IS one of the best backup bigs in the NBA ☘️

Shouts to Iso Joe, with whom LeBron is tied
This was the 8th game-winning buzzer-beater of LeBron's career, tied for 2nd most in NBA history.

His first since May 5, 2018, when he was just 33 years old.
