My daughter will leave as soon as she gets another job and many good people are planning to leave as well. There is a huge drain of their resources happening.

It will cost them good employees and good students and good researchers. My daughter works there. They pay crap and they’re taking away the tuition benefit which is why people were willing to work for crap pay. And they’re making the health insurance worse. No raises & no bonuses.

I believe that it’s the interim President and they’ll be the sacrificial lamb. They’ll be gone and others can say “I had no choice but to implement the deal!”

So you’re saying that the elected officials at the BOR HAVE to keep giving commercial properties ridiculous breaks? What state law requires them to keep reducing the assessments coming from the Assessor’s office time and again?

I haven’t read the actual document but I’m gonna guess it’s still at the discretion of the government as to which things get funded. I’m sure they will still block anything they deem “woke.”

Are you saying, that in your policy work for the Board of Review, you NEVER reviewed or analyzed any commercial real estate policies? Your work in communications never touched on their capitulations to commercial real estate interests? You didn’t notice that residential owners were getting screwed?

But they likely won’t restore the research grants to the social services dept of the medical school - those were all removed bc they study things like Black maternal health and LGBTQ+ health issues. Northwestern isn’t protecting the people hardest hit by the Trump admin.

The people who refuse to learn are harming the rest of us. The people making millions on spreading misinformation are actually causing death. I refuse to stop trying to find a way to at least diminish the incentives to spread propaganda. You can give up. That’s your choice.

So what is your solution to the explosion of dangerous propaganda being pushed by formerly trusted news sources? I’ll buy that the Fairness Doctrine didn’t apply to things that didn’t exist before it was passed. But I refuse to throw up my hands and say there’s no solution.

Also, these people have way more money personally than most of the people getting their texts begging for more. It’s hard to stomach when we’re looking down the barrel of the cost of food and healthcare being out of reach.

Iirc - back in the “good old days” only wealthy people could actually afford air travel and they all dressed up for each other. Had to show everyone how classy you were. That isn’t air travel today. Airplanes are basically sky buses & I don’t care what anyone thinks about my sweatpants.
