(I don’t know if attitudes have changed since I haven’t been on hockey Reddit in a bit but I’ve tried to type out the proper name since then.)

According to Czech hockey fans who told me not to say Czechia it was some sort of top down marketing initiative by the tourist industry and they did not like to see it. It retains the long form of the name on government documents.

Thank you for using your position to work to help the people kidnapped into these terrible circumstances.

I just can’t imagine talking about alcohol that much. I’d definitely backslide. One time a door to a smoking area was open for construction and I was telling my co-worker I was gonna do it, I was gonna buy a case of cigars. I was in the struggle. Most days I don’t think about smoking, either!

The first time it happened I was stunned but I just sort of expect now that if I tell somone on Twitter they might jive with just working at going longer and longer and not looking at slipping up as a setback but a chance to beat their streak next time somone will probably show up to be nasty.

My god have I gotten abused by AA members who were furious I stopped years of heavy drinking by stopping.

The strangest encounter was once I described my credentials and they decided I qualified as an alcoholic they started pressuring me to come to meetings although I hadn’t had a drink in years.

Like I know conservative culture warriors wanted it to be one thing and other people said “Geralt would make that joke Cavill was the one out of character” but at the end of the day “Man doesn’t want to joke about dead animal” seems thin evidence either way.

To be fair the open documentation about him pressing for a rewrite was because they wanted to make Roach’s death slapstick which doesn’t seem especially out of line. If they did just had big creative differences on comedy level it’s better to part sometimes.

Why Henry Cavill Rewrote This Emotional Scene From The Witcher - SlashFilm
Cracking wise during this key Roach scene from The Witcher season 2 would've been a terrible move. Well done, Mr. Cavill.

Great, our cyberpunk dystopia is also an urban fantasy where we confound the soulless Fae with poems and riddles.

Libertarian Party members are a lot closer to libertarian socialism than establishment Dems are to human sentiment. Blessed to have never been a Dem or Republican tbh.

(Though I don’t think taking over the defensive line with socialists is impossible.)
November 20, 2025 at 12:06 PM
(I mean most because I was a Libertarian a long time and then was like “Oh we need large scale organization to fight climate change” so I know you can in fact beat the magical hand of the market thinking with common sense.)

I’m happy to argue with a Libertarian about the supposed spiritual, magical hand of the market versus support the offensive and defensive lines of America’s current single party system. When establishment Dems had supermajorities they fought to do as little as possible. It’s a visible fact.

If someone says “But Chase Oliver couldn’t beat Trump because I refused to vote for him because I wanted a conservative pro-genocide candidate!” we’ve found the problem.
November 20, 2025 at 11:26 AM
I mean Chase Oliver was on the ballot. Maybe we should reframe this discussion to why between the two traditional genocidal conservatives no one voted for the Libertarian gay who’s against genocide and for trans rights.

I don’t think you’re serious.

‘End the genocide’ says Libertarian presidential candidate

I hope things come together for you soon!! It’s been bad in city for me, recently, too. I hope next year is a significant improvement on this one.
