up until the betty williams episode, a crime to remember on ID is not bad. the betty williams episode, however, is a tone-deaf dismissal of suicidal ideation and its underlying drivers. it’s giving “she couldn’t have ACTUALLY wanted to die 🤪” unhelpful af rhetoric.

i knew this year was gonna suck when my cat died on january 2. then my eldest dog tried to die on february 2. then my sister got diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer (EHE) on march 14. then there were a few chaotic months of fostering and being unable to do much of anything else. and now…

i think maybe the worst part is that i don’t remember your starbucks drink anymore. or your favorite food. or your favorite season. we used to joke about how it would be nice to have memories of our childhoods. mom getting sick forced us to spend more time together and i’m so grateful for that time.

i’m super weirded out by this trend of shaming people for not being part of the default.
for example, if i have a software issue, the societal default for OS is windows. if i am on a mac, they blame it on the mac. but on mobile, iphone users do the same thing to androids. weird and icky. let’s not.
