this rings true
the reason people bought into qanon is it helped with the cognitive dissonance that they themselves were a sex pest by focusing on real and imaginary bigger sex pests
it’s kind of wild that the central thesis of QAnon, that there is a group of high-ranking people in business, government, etc. that all are also pedophiles, is, well.

Lotta people’s names show up in epstien’s email, quite a few times.

this is honorable and good. partisan politics will make you think otherwise, but it is good to pursue good, to advocate for it, to endorse it, etc., even in bad faith or hypocritically. good is good.
No no no, did he pre-cope in private? Not fair, we deserve at least 4 paragraphs where the feelings shine through

another attempt to get at "division of vectors" from a different direction but again in a logical and elementary order. It's quite tidy to write a scalar projection of vectors as b/a, and this is consistent with df/dx, actually... I think.

further attempts to define a sensible index notation for exterior algebra. Looks quite arcane. None of this should be so complicated...

I didn't really succeed but it might be nice as a reference, if it's correct

trying to derive linear algebra in a logical order without ever flipping into "undergraduate" math-education mode. It demands we define division, and we can, kind of.

More on reaction networks, still following Baez. Noether's theorem is trivial in this context: factoring a space with an operator defines coordinates on the space; orbits which are conserved the operator conserve this coordinates, yes of course.

some of Baez' Reaction Networks theory in my own words and notation. I found this stuff extremely compelling as I was drifting away from grad school, as a prototype of about half of quantum mechanics + an interesting zoo of dynamical systems

the thing that drives me crazy on twitter now is that after absolutely ANY newsworthy even come dozens of people saying "clearly fake" "no way this is real" "staged" "something feels off"

its completely ran through w conspiratorial sentiment, it's maddening

another math-tutoring thing

these kids minds are all like cars that are "being towed" by the school system

they're able to drive around at the campsite a little, so to speak, but nothing in school seems to incentivize them to set out on their own

it would be nice if it idid

have been tutoring youths in math lately

in one hour of tutoring these youths get more attention paid to their thoughts and emotions than I got in the first 20 years of my life

I arrive at a sociological theory, probably not novel

yknow "growth/fixed mindset" thing? didn't replicate I think

Stray thought: "mental illness" has the wrong connotation. An illness suggests you wait for it to pass; it happens to you.

"Mental injury" is better. An injury suggests you do *certain* things, and, to learn not to hurt yourself (if you are responsible) or to keep yourself safe (if not)
