The analyses revealed no significant effects of social media abstinence interventions on positive affect, negative affect, or life satisfaction. Relationships between social media abstinence duration and the three outcomes were also non-significant.

“The oft repeated call for "teacher autonomy" confuses licence with liberty. Autonomy in teaching cannot mean doing whatever irrespective of outcomes. Professionals are accountable to something larger. In medicine, law, or aviation, practice is bounded by evidence. Why should education be exempt?”
The science of learning, drawing from cog psy, neuroscience, education, and design, offers probabilistic insights into effective instructional strategies. It is wrong when ideologies are misrepresenting the science as dogmatic or ignoring evidence.

As much as I dislike the politics and fearmongering of Tommy Robinson, the law should protect the rights of all customers to be served regardless of their beliefs. If not, this will be, especially when an "anti-estamblishment" party rules, a very slippery slope. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The other big news out of government today is the publication of the interim report of the Curriculum and Assessment Review of education in England.

The report suggests 'evolution' not 'revolution' of current systems and identifies 4 areas for more work:

I strongly hope the EU will use the full force of the Digital Services Act to dismiss Meta's invitation on its platforms to label people with different sexual orientations or genders as "mentally ill". At no point in history has unfounded hatred via dehumanising labels helped social cohesion.

Seeing the growing failure of health service provision, it's not enough for politicians to be "ashamed".
