Definitely, he seems to like it a bit too much🫣

If he could do that in the 80s without all of the fabulous free middleware we have today, then what is my excuse? With that drive, I finally managed to find the right balance and drive to make it happen.

Anyway, thought I'd share my #GameDevStory.

Check out the game below-

Thank you so much!

I'm excited to check out the book once it's launched, too!

I know this is an unusual request, but I designed my RPG Monsters of Mican inspired 100% by JVC developing M&M1 alone, and I've always wanted to somehow show the game to him, but been unable to contact him.

If there's any way you could show it to him I'd be incredibly grateful!

How will you recover from this 🫂

Gonna be totally honest with you Clay.

Someone linked me a post like this on twitter that had a ton of views and I said hey, why not try that here?

And you know what? IT'S KIND OF WORKING 😱

Well if we're talking jank in general I've gotta say there's a heaping serving of that.

But yeah maybe just a sprinkle of M&M9 inspired jank!
November 18, 2025 at 12:16 PM
Well I did design this as a blending of 1-5 and 6-8's style.

With MAAAAYYBE a dash of 9 sprinkled in?

My wife made me a shirt for my game too, to promote at a local farmer's market.

It did not work!

Tbh I think #Carrot is a more vital and descriptive hashtag in this situation

I think I've actually decided on the left mostly because it just happens to scale to match the wall shape better than the other.

Working on a pretty wild dynamic wall system that should hopefully add a ton of gameplay variety to a typical turn based system.

And clearly *my friend* meant to type "wall on fire" not, "while on fire".

Silly friend.

All of this is semantics to start with, but the idea is that grouping games like Silksong and E33 along with games like Eternal Skies and Monsters of Mican does the latter a disservice, because we simply don't have the kinds of resources (time/money/connections) that the former has.

That's it.
November 17, 2025 at 7:02 PM
That's what it used to mean, yeah.

There has to be a better word to describe these high profile "indie" games.

Maybe go back to the A or AA designation.
