"The Simpsons" is a documentary. Homer is the median American.

Formerly SkinnerBoxUSA at the other place. IFBAV.
Can't help but admire the stones on that guy -- does nothing with his adult life besides crapping out bland extrusions of C-minus prose that always adds up to zero, yet laments the "class war" of other soft-handed assholes hoovering up everyone else's wallets.

Sorry Bobo, you're a POW in that one.

Scum. Absolute scum. I feel worst for the individuals who gave their time and effort volunteering in various ways to get this loathsome trickster into office.

I wish her all the very worst things life has to offer people like her.

Dem electoral strategy is predicated to a way-too-large degree on "reaching out" these fucking bozos, at the expense of simply motivating millions of people who *want* to vote Dem, but are seeing cynical diffidence and inaction at every turn.

It's a fool's errand to be courting dumbasses first.

They literally published a 920-page book detailing what they wanted to do, and people who wanted to believe that Mister Never Backs Down was really backing away from is every bit the useless dupe they sound like.

But there's a very practical dimension to making these distinctions.

Murphy says it exactly right, but he needs to apply it not just to generic "people of influence," but to his colleagues as well: "you need to pick a fucking side."

Force them to choose, and never stop reminding them of their choice. It's your skins on the line, after all. Not a game anymore.

PS: Were I a Dem advisor, I couldn't emphasize enough the Power Of Doing Nothing. Make the fascists carry their own filthy water. Don't even hold the door open for them. Park across their reserved spot. Flip them off in the cafe and the gym.

And DO NOTHING to help them in the least w/anything.

So much of what we euphemistically call "government" (🙄) is really just the daily grind of boring procedural, mechanical minutiae, things that are too boring even to *write* about, much less read.

But they're important all the same to the functioning of the machine. Shut it down. Tell 'em why.

Perhaps most importantly, Dems need to tell the shitbird nazis they're forced to work with that they will do *nothing* and vote on *nothing* -- no judges, no assistant secretaries, no little Eichmanns of any kind -- until he fucking apologizes.

PS: I can't even bother to dump on the "upper echelon physique" and "great dad" nonsense -- he looks like 250# of chewed bubble-gum that takes drugs to stay up all weekend, and if 10% of that tribe he's breeding still talk to him when they're adults, we'll all be surprised.

Just a P.O.S. 🖕🤡💩

But you know, janky solo-drive tunnels under Vegas, robots that are actually debt-riddled humans caping for conference suckers, rockets that explode on the launchpad, thousands of internet satellites cluttering up the sky (the one thing that *does* work) -- *anyone* could have done those things.

None of Musk's more exotic pipe dreams work to any meaningful extent, and his signature utopian vision -- colonizing Mars -- *will not happen* in your or my or his lifetime, if ever.

Neither Elon Musk Nor Anybody Else Will Ever Colonize Mars | Defector
Mars does not have a magnetosphere. Any discussion of humans ever settling the red planet can stop right there, but of course it never does. Do you have a low-cost plan for, uh, creating a gigantic ac...

The historical figure that Musk reminds me of the most is Henry Ford -- a slightly above-average intellect combined with a ruthless, relentless, preeningly arrogant drive to emboss the nation with his visage.

But someone else would have "invented" the assembly line, and probably did.

Don't take my word for it -- read or watch a few interviews with him. Ask yourself what your life would be like if none of his companies had ever existed. If you have a Tesla car, you'd have a Prius or Volt or something else. There are several different version of PayPal out there.

It's not just snark either -- Musk isn't a scientist or an engineer, he's a salesman whose "innovations" mostly consist of knowing which palm to grease, and how to make himself too big to fail or cut loose. Every time he speaks aloud, you wonder what he's on.

A real mediocrity in every sense.
