The Supper Club film is one of the holy grails of Dylan collecting. Even the Dylan Archives is prohibited from showing the footage to researchers. Almost no one has seen it in 30 years.

I watched it one afternoon this summer, sitting with the director. Here's the story. It lives up to the hype.

Happy Bootleg Series release day! Here's my exhaustive (exhausting?) track by track guide to read while you listen. A deep dive on each song—where they come from, what they sound like, have we heard them before

The final recently-discovered 60s concert tape I listened to in the Bob Dylan Archives—and the only one with The Hawks backing him.

A different tape of this show (by bootlegger Allen Ginsberg no less) circulates, but this new one sounds better.

In his Bob Dylan Day-By-Day book, Clinton Heylin calls this “one of his most legendary performances.” But the legend, such as it is, comes solely from reports from those who were there. No tape has ever been heard…until now.

The first of four never-heard Dylan tapes I listened to at the Archives:

While in Tulsa this summer, I visited the Bob Dylan Archives and listened to four never-heard tapes from Bob's Bay Area concerts in 64 and 65. Today I share the story of how these tapes came to exist—and came to be discovered in a basement 60 years later.

Happy Hearts of Fire day to those who celebrate! I talked to Beau Hill, Music Director of the movie and producer of the soundtrack, about months of chaos working on Bob Dylan's infamous flop

And I got an answer to the question we've all been asking: How much did Bob really know about Ratt?
