Dinner…Iraqi kubba burghul…the shell is a mix of burghul, semolina (jareesh) and ground beef, I process it to make the shell, stuffing is ground beef and lots of onions, cooked. This kubba is boiled in salt water…

Today I scored Dungeness crabs at Costco, they had a great deal on it and finally crab season is open, hopefully we get plenty and prices will be lower this year…first time in 10 months, oven baked with garlic butter, red pepper flakes, thyme, lemon zest snd juice and white wine…

I love onion soup, I hate slicing the gazillion onions required, everything else is super easy…I don’t use a slow cooker, just a good ole heavy pot, I let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes….

I think I’m having a brain fart today…another thing that I’m confused about…wasn’t the orange turd against H1B visa holders? That he wanted “home grown” talents? And he hiked the application fees to $100,000?

Today I made some kubbah for the freezer, the shell is a mix of bulgur, jareesh (fine cracked wheat), ground beef, onion, cumin and salt. Stuffed with ground beef. It’s boiled not fried….

Dinner today, roast leg of lamb, boneless, with baby potatoes roasted in the lamb fat, Swiss chard and a fake tabouleh (I used leftover couscous instead of burghul)….there was also some lamb au-jus….

So my Mom learned this dish waayyyyy back when, we were in Corvallis OR, she said this was a sloppy Joe, ground beef in a white sauce with tons of cheese and scooped over toast (ciabatta)…I was really surprised later to see that sloppy Joe is a red sauce…whatever it is, it’s good….
