this isnt to stop shoplifting. its security theater designed to spread the concept the poor are a barely repressed violent mob so the public will support them being put down in ways like a Walgreens security guard shooting a Black trans man (Banko Brown) dead over tide pods. they know whats coming.
I get the need to safeguard from shoplifting but this CVS setup is insane.
