One reason Hamas can't agree to any deal without changing "living" to "dead or alive" is they have committed the additional atrocity of losing track of their kidnap victims. This is why the law required them to allow Red Cross access, so this didn't happen.

Well, I like to go by "words mean things." Hamas is a fascist organization hoping to commit an act of ethnic cleansing in order to create a theocratic ethnostate. Their claim to a right to do this is based on a 7th century conquest. That's bad, actually.
