The AFRC is sponsor of Day 7 (Fathers & Peer Support) of Perinatal Mental Health Week, 17 – 24 November.

Thank you to Frank Alexopoulos for sharing his story of struggling with depression and anxiety after his children were born, on the lived experience panel, at the PMHWeek launch in Canberra.

So my clever followers, if you were to create a session or program for dads to support their partners with Post Natal Depression what would you include? Currently thinking of a proposal to PIMHS to give Dads a way where they can feel useful and focused. Do you know of any examples or research?

Dads matter. As mothers have entered the labor force in greater numbers, fathers have reduced the amount of time they spend in paid work, and increased the time they spend completing household activities and caring for their children.

These Starter Packs are super helpful so I made one of scholars who study fathers, fatherhood, and fathering.

Let me know if you would like me to add someone or if you would like to be added (or be removed 😂).
