Charlie and the chocolate factory the movie (the old one) has Wonka way weirder than he is in the book. And Johnny Depp’s Wonka is horrible. I think the book drops so many clues that you can’t replicate in a movie. Your imagination about Wonka does a lot of work. The movies can’t do that.

To an extent. I think Charlie and the Chocolate factory is safe bc the weirdness of Wonka isn’t super perceivable until you’re an adult. The BFG is dark at points but ends nicely. The Twits you might need a second opinion on. I think it’s fine but I can see why one would lean the other way also.

I was a Roald Dahl fan so they’ve had the BFG, The Twits and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
