Maybe don’t use ChatGPT to write your headlines? Target has done everything wrong: demoted Pride Month, ended DEI, dirty stores, no staff in stores, self check out instead of people, degraded product selection, blaming shoplifting instead of their own bad decisions, just completely out of touch.

Rejecting your customer base and prioritizing bigots will do that. I actually stopped shopping there the year before the DEI boycott, when they pulled Pride merch. Haven’t missed it at all. In fact, all it did was make me buy things I didn’t need, so I’ve actually saved money.

So… alienating your customer base isn’t a winning business strategy after all?

Nobody could possibly have predicted this. /s

Hasn't Labour seen this before (the 80s)? The problem is that once you sell your soul for approval, the auction never stops until you do.

I wonder how long it will take Shabana Mahmood to realise that every time she tries to outflank Reform on the right, Nigel Farage will just respond by escalating with more and more radical policies.

The same unfairness angers me here with Mahmood (and previously Priti Patel, Suella Braverman etc) whose families in recent generations benefitted from UK policies welcoming economic/political migrants… yet they now want ensure new migrants can’t have the same opportunities their families received

Sad and pathetic to see them chasing the distant hope of applause from the right wing media. As New Labour discovered under Blair, they always bite the hand that tries to feed them.

More and more looks like Starmer and his ilk were planted in to destroy the party from within, and what a great job they have done for the billionaires
Some terrible decisions have been made since 2016 and this is another one of them
The money men have done an incredible job on the public though

Maybe they're not doing it just to chase the Reform vote. Maybe they're doing it because that's who they are now.

In any case, they're either very stupid or very evil. Or both

Exactly, there’s no point trying to out deform deform, their supporters/voters will never vote Labour anyway. It’s pissing off their own supporters and people who voted for them in 2024 that are leaving the party.

Is genuinely depressing!

Suggested plan for non-right UK parties:

1: Try making decisions / polices based on what is ‘morally right’ NOT what advisors say might win votes at the next election

2: Don’t be cunts. You won’t out-cunt Reform/Tories. Cunt voters won’t believe you and you will lose non-cunt voter trust.

Tbh, Labour’s strings are being pulled by Blue Labour, who are very comfortable with the idea of a Reform government.
So I don’t think what Labour are doing is in any way an accident; this is as designed.
