Israel plans to take over Gaza City. Starmer says their plan is wrong & they must rethink it, but the UK is still supporting Israel with arms sales, training, RAF surveillance flights & more. Sign the petition: tell Keir he MUST end this support: 38d.gs/hwpb

Loved teaching First Communion class this afternoon, one of my very favourite bits of ministry. Now sitting with the blessed sacrament, and giving thanks for children who are so eager to know Jesus more fully. The kids are more than alright, they're glorious. #CofEPeeps #Narthex 🕯️✝️⚓😍🍞🍷

#disability can you help add to this matchfund for someone in need of an urgent operation in US
For Jenny:

These two days 29th and 30th April a match fund donor is matching up to £5000 and adding an extra £1000 if they beat this.

Can you help? Her condition is deteriorating and she needs this operation fast. Its her birthday today.

I've sat out here as dawn rises this week. Listening to the rising chorus of birds. Smelling the clear, fresh air. As someone deep in #climate theology, it's been beautiful and sad

Grieving losses that have happened, and continue to happen

Longing for this beauty to be preserved

Reposting because UK theological colleges in general are just too white british and I find that utterly boring and depressing. Time for diversity that isn't tokenism.

Time for a different atmosphere that fosters actual belonging.

Back in 2002, I stood on a beach in the med. The air was warm, the people were warm, the palm trees were beautiful, we'd just had mint tea in a cafe.

'Anywhere else in the world', I thought, 'with beaches and a view like this, I'd be surrounded by high rise hotels.'

Here, there was nothing, just local shops scratching a living, groups of kids playing in the streets.

He's not wrong that it's beautiful, with massive development potential. But it belongs to Palestine 🇵🇸

Food for thought - do both...
We don't defeat populists by calling out their lies. We tried that. Facts are complicated, and the audience for populism wants simplicity. It won't work.

We defeat populists by enacting bold political ideas that improve lives for the disenfranchised, and make the world seem less grotesquely unfair.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

The thing I 💙 abt Bluesky (yik I'm preaching to the converted. Here's my reasons...)

Its spacious, u can process things at a slower rate, visually its easier to take in & doesn't contribute to the noise in your head & cos of the way it is laid out I don't think it will w/ increased nos = happy ND
