Newport, RI, the best little city in the best little state.
Unemployment is trending up.
Almost all commentators are acting as though it is going to stabilize, or even start heading lower.
Why?
This has never happened. Once unemployment starts heading up it has never peaked at less than 6%.

In the last couple of days Trump has admitted that tariffs cause inflation and immigrants are a necessary part of our workforce.
I am always surprised by the 'flexibility' of the MAGA faithful, but can they survive this whiplash?

Epstein was a just very successful pimp.
ALL of his male friends were clients in one way or another.
ALL of the young women and girls associated with him were trafficked in one way or another.
It's not complicated.

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

Let's be clear: there's funding available to cover SNAP benefits next month. Trump is stopping SNAP benefits because he wants to. He is forcing mommas and babies to go hungry.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Thanks to John Roberts, Trump gets to pay himself hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars because, according to Roberts, the president controls all executive branch personnel and all of their decisions—and there’s probably nothing anyone can do about it.
As Trump plans to steal $230 million from taxpayers, we can thank John Roberts
Shall we call it a "Roberts reward"?
