Clearsky responds. Seems from others that this is just them using the "transition" scope in oauth, which is akin to an app password and has very broad permissions. More granular scopes exist, but are not documented well and not production-ready. Either way, a lot more perms than I want to give them.

I'm seeing it any time I go to the "Blocked By" or "Lists Blocked By" tabs for a user.

Oddly enough, my laptop has the same page loaded and *doesn't* have this check. Maybe they're A/B testing? Or just aggressive caching on the frontend? You might not see it yet either way.

I updated reply settings, this is useful info if you'd like to add it to the thread. It's understandable why they'd use it, but it's still...more access than I'd be comfortable granting in this case.

Also I bristle sharply at any club that would openly use GenAI art for promotional posters, probably for all the same reason as you.

Both of these are fairly mild positions to hold these days. I don't get why Ru was so damn mad at you lol

Your post about furry VR clubs needing to do more to protect people was one of the first big posts of yours I saw. And you were right. Since then, there were several incidents with popular clubs protecting people with bad pasts. It wasn't ever singling out clubs, it was about the whole scene overall

This is literally the VRChat strategy.

"Since we can't monetize or control your thriving ecosystem of community add-ons, we're killing the whole thing. Good luck! Oh, you needed it for accessibility? Alright, here's half the features done poorly with penalties. Never ask us for anything again."
November 14, 2025 at 10:35 PM
This part pissed me off.

Yeah, a lot of people depend on these mods for accessibility, so they're introducing some similar features into the actual game itself, but since they control it, they're also adding a *penalty* for using them.

A penalty for using the accessibility features! Fuck off!

In a few cases, that was done to me, and it was being done to them to a level that bordered on criminal. That's not how I solve problems.

I am an advocate for positive change, not a destroyer of communities for no good reason.

I hope people will feel safer being honest with me moving forward.

So we're clear, I do not now and *will never* support dragging this stupid Internet bullshit out into the real world. That includes doxxing, IRL threats, attempting to interfere with people's jobs or their ability to support volunteer organizations. Ain't nobody got time for that nonsense.

She didn't do anything wrong. She wasn't aware of the whole situation as it happened.

For sure plenty of people would buy it at that price point, but considering you can get a Quest 3 refurb now for $350 on a good day, and that's strikingly close to the Frame in terms of lens/screen quality and remote desktop support...that's a lot to pay just to avoid meta's bullshit lol

Clickbait and not even accurate, it's pretty firmly in the middle of the field of headsets that exist...it's a perfectly fine device but its success will probably be very price-dependent
