Specifically, the moment at 1:20 as it builds into the big chorus. Once the chorus hit I finally realized who the vocalist was and it made this high-adrenaline race around the racetrack so heart poundingly exciting.

Okay I think i figured that weird trend out now... Put one or more characters in the spotlight, make people believe they are the main character, kill them off asap to "subvert expectations".
Echoes doesn't fully fit, but it really feels like that was at least inspired by it. Also He Man comes back.

Started working on a small little post mortem. However, I came to a realization yesterday that, if true, might be way more interesting and important. Can't proof it yet though, so let's wait with that for after my next game. Still gonna share some mistakes I made for gamedev friends. :)
Genuinely currious: Since I have mutual indie dev friends on here, many also doing the 3D platforming directions: Anyone interested in some tiny quick post mortem about how Toree Saturn went and what I think might have gone wrong?

Started working on a small little post mortem. However, I came to a realization yesterday that, if true, might be way more interesting and important. Can't proof it yet though, so let's wait with that for after my next game. Still gonna share some mistakes I made for gamedev friends. :)

I am starting to feel really old. I just watched the first episode of that IT series and I really liked it at first. That ending made me lose all interest in the story and in continuing. I get that cynism and "subverting expectations" is cool nowadays, so i guess it must be me? No idea.
