Me: my chronic pain isn’t that bad
My chronic pain: makes every position uncomfortable and wakes me up multiple times in the night
Me: hmmmm okay…suspicious. I’ll take some Aleve but it isn’t THAT bad

Sean: Did you drink enough water today?
Me, who has peed once an hour (sometimes more) after a 16 oz water bottle: my bladder says yes

My husband described some muffins as full of sugar and a little bit dense. I want that on my tombstone.

Sometimes I don’t think being adopted really has affected me. Then I look at all the characters I create and how all of them are adopted/have found family tropes and realize I might need to reconsider.

part of why I write is to maybe help people forget the horrors of reality and provide some kind of escape or distraction, but also, lmao here's my trauma and personal struggles thinly disguised in book form, good luck!

Sometimes I wonder why I’m so bad about writing consistently despite the never ending stories and creativity going on in my head. Then I remember I use all of my energy for my day job that the energy needed to actual focus and write just isn’t there….how I crave to make writing my only job.

I saw that RFK jr said that autistic children will never go on dates and pay taxes. How do I break it to my autistic husband that he has to pick being autistic or being married with a good paying job that he pays taxes with?

Don’t shame people for not immediately reading all the books they buy. Some books aren’t made to be ready right away, okay? Some books need time to mature. Some books need to cure for a while. Some books are prosciutto, and don’t you forget it.

"Do you know one thing I never did to cope or in response to my autism? Repeatedly fire off a Nazi Roman salute." An incredible piece from The Big Picture that doesn’t hold back.
Neither Neurodivergence Nor Mental Illness Made Them Bigots—They're Just Awful People
It's hard to admit your heroes are jerks, but the mentally ill and neurodivergent shouldn't be collateral damage.

You guys, they're not stupid

They're doing propaganda

When they lie through their teeth, they are doing propaganda

Do you think the people behind Big Brother in 1984 were stupid? Big Brother says lots of nonsensical shit.

My favorite activity is being a little shit to my husband and correcting his grammar instead of acknowledging that he is right about whatever else we are talking about.

Post nut clarity? No. Post book clarity. Every time I read a book in 24 hours I am left empty and full of thoughts. Send help (and book recommendations).

Nearly every medicine we benefit from started with NIH-funded research. Early discovery work starts in academia.

Immunotherapies?
Gene therapy for rare diseases?
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s medicines?
Vaccines?
Novel cancer treatments?
Psychiatric medicines?

You betcha.

My favorite work days are when I log in to almost 100 new emails and ALL of them are just notifications for art moving through our system. I get to just delete them all and watch as my day returns to the mundane and I can actually work on my regularly scheduled projects.

Me: I really need to fine tune my social media to see stuff I want.
Also me: goes and follows the same people my 3 main friends follow so I don’t have to put in effort.
