Leftist Christian, astronomy nerd, Disney adult, lover of animals and Japanese gardens, gay husband and hummingbird-dad. If I follow you, I’m an admirer of your art or ideas.
Husband and I went to a dahlia event in Canby, Oregon a few weeks ago. I was not expecting to be as enchanted as I was by these flowers. It’s this kind of beauty that survives, somehow, in this horrible moment we’re in, that inspires me to keep going, to stay strong and carry on.

What happens when the highest leaders in office spread misinformation about vaccines killing people, stolen elections, etc?

A lot of people believe it. And it makes them furious enough to risk their lives in revenge.

I’m 56. Gen X. When I was a child we were taught presidents were honorable. Their instinct was not to lie. They put country before self, and certainly before profit. I’m not sure what went wrong, but I worry for the generations whose introduction to the presidency is this horrible person.

If as President you answer “I don’t know” when asked if you’ll follow the Constitution, you have violated your oath of office and should be removed.

And yet they haven’t stopped. That’s how profitable their crimes are. When you have to lie, cheat and steal to win elections, you are morally bankrupt. So much for the party of “family values”.

Psst…those 1950s manufacturing jobs Trump loves so much?

They were good jobs because they were UNION jobs.

Oh...and taxes on corporations and the rich were much higher.

Trump’s agenda won’t bring back the “Golden Age.”

It’ll make the rich richer at everyone else's expense.

If that’s what it takes. It’s unfortunate that many people must be directly affected before they react to this diabolical regime. We should stand up to wrongs when we see them perpetuated against anyone. But I guess we need the red states to feel pain to wake them up. I wish it wasn’t this way.
With all the talk of product shortages , I think it should be said that products will first find their way to densely populated areas first and everywhere else, last

This certainly will hurt all those red counties. How they react to their shelves being everything will define the midterms

Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens in Woodland, Washington. The lilacs are in bloom for only a few weeks a year. I’m going to sheepishly admit however to being more in love with some of the other flora on display. A quick but pleasant visit.

This is so important. Without Fox “News” lying habitually day in and day out to the vulnerable that somehow the false orange messiah will help them, we wouldn’t be at all close to this current crisis.

Japanese gardens are designed to look like the natural world in miniature. Here, we see an ocean or a lake and a shoreline. The human mind can now take in God‘s complicated creation in a simpler form, easier to digest and contemplate. Now one can appreciate how fragile it all is.

It's so odd that Christian Nationalists are trying to stomp out *pretend* "anti-Christian bias" when their repudiation of everything Jesus ever said is the biggest example of *real* "anti-Christian bias" in the United States right now.

Pope Francis lifted the world as he led the Church with his profound moral voice. As he returns to God, may his call to humility and concern for the least among us continue to resound.

At the Portland Japanese Garden. These curated trees, the way human creativity intersects with nature to create such beauty, bring me much amazement. I’m so happy these exist.
