Punchlist 1: First Church in Boston
The first entry of the Punchlist series is, fittingly, the First Church in Boston.

At the elections board hearing this morning, the lawyer for the group that brought these anti-democratic objections argued that the ballot question's premise of Israeli occupation of Palestinian land was "fake" because, and I'm quoting her rhetorical question here, "What is Palestine?"
This morning, I submitted testimony to the Somerville Board of Election Commissioners — asking them to overrule the anti-democratic objections to the Palestine Solidarity ballot question and to proceed with placing the question on the municipal ballot today.

Me 6 years old: Wise One, teach me the Sacred Truths that I may survive this infernal plane and understand its awful beauty

My grandma: There used to be this song on the TV that went "Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don't. Almond Joys got nuts. Mounds don't"

Me: I will never forget it

Soon enough someone's gonna successfully challenge Moulton, but who's gonna step up to unseat Auchincloss, one of the Democrats' most conservative, warmongering hacks?

He only beat progressive rival @jessemermell.bsky.social by 1.4% in 2020. It can be done. www.bostonglobe.com/2025/06/26/n...
Two Mass. military vets in Congress break from Democratic consensus of outrage over Trump’s Iran strike - The Boston Globe
Representatives Jake Auchincloss and Seth Moulton struck a different tone on President Trump's Iran strikes than many of their Democratic colleagues.

First time checking out the new grand hall at South Station. Not bad, but if they keep the old hall as shuttered and dark as it’s been since they started building this thing, it’s lipstick on a pig

Barely any mainstream coverage of this. Worcester cops help Trump’s gestapo rip a woman away from brave neighbors and her weeping 16 year old daughter, abduct her without a warrant, and it’s not even up on the main page of the @bostonglobe.com. Nothing at all from @wbur.org or @wgbh.org

If blanket upzoning is about to take off, cities need to adopt requirements for developers to pay for residents directly displaced by conversions and teardowns to temporarily relocate while construction takes place, and then move back into affordable units in the new denser buildings

Question the motives of any “urbanist” who is against fare free transit because it “doesn’t actually work”
MeVa – the regional transit agency for Haverhill and Lawrence – used to collect $1.5 million a year in fare revenues. But going fare-free has produced over $2 million in benefits to the agency, its riders, and the regional economy.

Peter Navarro, Trump's senior counselor for trade and manufacturing who's leading the charge on protectionist trade policy, is yet another evil moron churned out by third-best-school-on-the-Red-Line Tufts University, up there with Anthony Scaramucci, Dan Crenshaw and Scott Brown. Roll bos!
