Judge Jackson understands there is a "it depends" here. When the consequences of being wrong are high, the judiciary has the right to intervene. If on the other hand judge Barret ever needed an emergency restraining order against a stalker , she would understand better.

This is not normal. A sitting president refusing to call the governor of a state after two elected officials were shot, one fatally, is beyond words. A typical president, regardless of politics, would pick up the phone. Offer condolences.
