Pulled a chicken carcass from the freezer and popped it into the Instant Pot with some veggies and herbs to make some chicken broth. Post straining; just reducing a bit before dividing up for the freezer. Thanksgiving prep is underway.

We actually made the pair! They came from different fosters! They’ve gotten a bit big for snuggles in this cat tree but they don’t care. 🤣 They also integrated well with my resident cats as they’ve matured and calmed down. The orangeboi is still a bit of an @$$hole but he can’t help it, he’s 🍊.

The most bizarre bit though is when the topic of witch-hunts comes up briefly. Out of nowhere Andrews says that you can’t say that only women do witch-hunts because McCarthyism is an example of a witch-hunt. It’s hard to summarize this and actually capture its full weirdness so here are screen caps.

These numbers are BONKERS. This is shift in vote margin compared to 2024 presidential election. NoVa is BIG MAD, and the rest of VA is the pretty mad too.

Tsoureki. This is a sweet bread from Greece. I usually make it at Easter but I’ve been craving it lately. It’s delicious with coffee. This is one of three loaves because Greek people don’t know how to make food in quantities smaller than “enough to feed an army”. The recipe makes 2.5 kgs of dough. 😳

This email, directed to part-time music teachers at a UK school, still amuses more than 10 years after the fact. I hit reply all on my response and got quite a few responses from the music teachers subject to this petty policy. I never got another email from the school finance director though.

This is pretty hilarious as it mirrors my experience over 30 years ago. Have they forgotten what it was like to be an undergraduate? It’s like Cato complaining about the youth of today. Also another example of something being newsworthy to the NYT solely because it’s Harvard.
