Every time I do an Arthrosurface Hemicap, I encourage the residents to watch this movie. It's not the same as seeing it when you're seven but I hope they are still a little terrified.

Maximillian attacks with the humeral reamer.
"The Black Hole" - a boldly dark departure from Disney's usual material. I saw this via a pirate copy in the early 80s (thanks, dad) and unsurprisingly found it scary but exciting.

A retelling of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with Nazi analogies. Maximilian Schell is perfect as Dr Hans Reinhardt. 👏

Happy Jackie Robinson Day.

It's the day when #MLB celebrates the most significant event in the history of baseball.

I still get a physical newspaper on Sundays.

My favorite part is giving them to players who look at you like "what is this thing you handed me?"

I tell them their parents will want to keep it.

Congrats, Jackson Jobe, on your first MLB win.

Your mom will have this forever.

The guy who did this awesome shoe shine at the MSP airport just asked me out of the blue if I have ever heard of "Harrison Bergeron."

It's one of my favorite short stories.

The world is an incredible place.

For the first time in nearly 15 years there are no Teslas in our driveway.

Today we sold her Model X and last week we sold my Model S.

A Macan EV and a Polestar 3 have upgraded our electric vehicle stable.

So glad to have much better EV choices than when I had to compromise to drive electric.

This should be the next book you read.

The parallels to pioneering women in ortho is chilling.

How fun to see the boys of summer back on the field.

So excited to be headed back down to Lakeland to do physicals on position players. Pitchers and catchers reported last week.

Almost ready to let the games begin!

Come to my clinic.

As a shoulder geek, physical exam is my favorite part!
Every teaching hospital has that one attending that still preaches the lost art of the physical exam.

"Hey everyone come to room 728. Check out this Kernig's sign."
December 21, 2024 at 7:11 PM
Dr. MaCalus Hogan came to Henry Ford as our Grand Rounds Speaker and gave an amazing talk!

It is always so fun connecting with great leaders who happen to be great friends.

My favorite resident moment is finding a thing in clinic (e.g. positive "O'Brien's test" for AC joint pain) and asking "Are you surprised that this was abnormal in this patient?" Followed by.

"Have you read the "Active Compression Test" article from AJSM?
