Dr. Jane Wu's tragic death is a reflection of the longstanding discrimination that Chinese researchers face in U.S. Northwestern’s actions were not just unjust — they were inhumane. Isn't the so called 'ties' what we used to call 'collaborations'?!

After Northwestern scientist questioned for China ties died by suicide, family sues and speaks out
Jane Wu was never charged with any wrongdoing, and her family is still outraged that her lab was shut down "without explanation," they say.

Levels of lysine malonylation (MaK) and its regulator Sirt5 were examined in mouse and in vitro cartilage samples. Results showed ↓SIRT5 and ↑MaK in cartilage during aging. In mice, combination of Sirt5 deficiency & obesity exacerbated joint degeneration

NOAA and the NWS are *lifesaving* public services.

Without tornado, flash flood, blizzard, and hurricane warnings, millions of people will be exposed to deadly weather without warning--weather that will continue to increase in severity due to climate change.

#StandUpForScience
It's worth noting when the system works. The last week of tornadoes and torrential rains led to at least 21 deaths and widespread damage. But the human toll could have been far worse without an NWS already under immense stress.

Two weeks ago, I went down to D.C. because some in Congress had questions about how we do things here in Boston.

It might have been my voice speaking into the microphone that day, but it was 700,000 voices that gave Congress their answer:

I show how Trump's attacks on science and universities are neither random nor new - they fit very precisely into the authoritarian playbook.

This means we can guess what might come next and prepare - and we must!
