Partial quotes from the statement released by the Foreign Ministry: “The position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the Palestinian state is a firm and unwavering position. This has been reiterated by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Council of Ministers—may God protect him. This position is explicitly and clearly stated, leaving no room for misinterpretation under any circumstances, as expressed during his speech at the ninth annual session of the Shura Council on 18 Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1445 AH (corresponding to October 2, 2024). In this speech, he emphasized that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would not proceed with any steps toward normalization with Israel without finding a solution to the issue of the Palestinian state. He emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to continuing efforts to establish a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital and called for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stresses its adherence to the previously declared position of rejecting any attempt to bypass the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, whether through proposals or initiatives that undermine the Palestinian cause. The Kingdom affirms its unwavering commitment to these principles, which cannot be compromised under any circumstances. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates that this firm position is not subject to negotiation or concessions. Achieving lasting and just peace cannot occur without the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions. This stance has been clarified to the previous U.S. administration and the current administration alike.”
