if an employee of the Chicago Sun Times made up a summer reading list of 50 fake books that didn't exist they would be fired already, blacklisted by the industry & the paper would have issued a retraction and a full page apology but it was a plagiarism machine so it'll just get used again next week

Also NEA made their grant system impossible in response to Cheryl Dunye’s The Watermelon Woman (1996) literally because they were angry a movie about a Black lesbian having sex was government-funded. US puritanical beliefs and lack of artist support are intrinsically connected.
