What almost everyone who talks about this means is "the prominent cultural and social visibility and influence of LGBT people" which does upset a lot of people, but is also not something that the Democratic Party can actually affect without a totalitarian cultural revolution.
The actual finding here is that a huge percentage of the population believes things that are not true. Democrats objectively did not spend significant time on climate change or LGBTQ issues in the last election campaign.
Duh. Those of us on the ground last year actually speaking with middle class/working class voters and who heard from these voters every single day the same - “Trump is an asshole, but Democrats are out of touch” - could’ve saved my new political party a lot of time & money producing this “report.”👇

A lot of Trump’s appeal comes down to the fact that people whose lives are boring & mediocre because they aren’t particularly bright, talented, or motivated, would very much like to hear a story in which actually it’s someone else’s fault.
oh, we have some straightforward gutter racism. “the blacks and the browns are the reason white people can’t get ahead” www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

One of the most bizarre myths of these COVID revisionist books is that people like Anthony Fauci were given dictatorial powers over US policy.

Mask mandates, school closures and lockdowns were imposed by governors! The CDC issued guidance but states weren't required to comply.

Pretty egregious error from this book: The authors say Swedish deaths fell by 2.3% during the pandemic, proving that the country's lax lockdown strategy worked.

But they misread their source: Mortality is only down if you remove the COVID deaths.

Something I’m enjoying is watching the right try and make this situation “masculine” when it is two extremely catty and weak-seeming people having a petty, messy and passive aggressive argument in public, refusing to talk to each other at all
u know i had heard how weirdly macho and masculine obsessed the right could be about issues

but holy shit lol

he really, truly thinks that stopping trade with China entirely is good

he doesn’t care how much damage it does to the economy or how many businesses go under - he thinks that if Americans buy anything from China we are losing money so it should stop

there’s no twelve dimensional chess here
Trump: "We already made a great deal. We're not doing business with China right now. We lost $1 trillion with China last year, so if you're not gonna do business with them, you're not gonna lose $1 trillion."

On a 2023 earnings call, Elon Musk boasted that Tesla had bagged “over 1 million” Cybertruck reservations and that “demand is off the charts.”

So why has the company still sold less than 50,000 trucks since customer deliveries began 14 months ago?
‘Over 1 Million’ People Wanted a Cybertruck. Where Are They?
“Demand is off the charts!” Elon Musk crowed at the end of 2023, citing more than a million reservations for Tesla's polarizing polygonic pickup—so why has it still sold less than 50,000?

The most obvious lesson to draw from the leaked Signal chat is that these people really are morons. It's not a public act, it's not a schtick, there's not some secret back room where they drop the facade. They are genuinely stupid, incompetent people.

This triggered three reviews, according to the NYT. One was from the Defense Department inspector general. 1/

People gotta get it through their thick skulls: Elon Musk is not actually good at business. Tesla would have died many times over by now, if not for outright fraud. The tactics he is using on government now have destroyed Twitter as an experience and business. His other companies aren't profitable.

The N.A. auto industry supply and assembly chain is entirely regional and cross-border.It would take years and cost OEMs many billions to reorient this to a different (and more expensive) model. This is one of the reasons why this nonsense probably ends soon. Mass US auto worker layoffs otherwise.
