Attended Taize service: songs for creation.Included prayers for Animals. Chanting. Beautiful readings ending on “Laudate, Gentes Omnes” becoming lullaby-like in its soft tenderness. I cried a little. I ache to walk to the creator of all things as their Beloved Creature. I ache to become animal.

“Prometheus: Coyote Steals Fire” preview. I employ mixed-media processes drawing in Tayasui Sketches then import to Illustrator (migrating to Affinity) for tidy & vectoring. Print to Sharp 703C6 on art-board then scaffuto & fill-in areas in red/black sharpie & black tempera then scan back for repro.

Woke up thinking of… she…

I used to spend about seven hours a day and I’ve been deliberately putting my phone aside leaving it in a drawer whilst reading writing drawing socialising and praying. I spent much of my life on the Internet as a surrogate for real contact. I wish to eventually get down to an hour a day.

Tiny Wolf Family. Printing error to the wrong bin scaled down and I made a cute little business card

Revisiting and old poem: Based on a story about an unclaimed creature I met who became a muse.
Stray She came to me with ribs like rungs, Her eyes all soot and storm, yet I the waxing tide. I opened the bed, my body, and breathed ...just breathed and she crawled inside to my all fours open wide. No collar, no name, but she knew where and how to lie down with me all the same Her muzzle against my throat, her breath hitching. A growl, soft as dusk I become open sea. Then teeth, careful and aching. Just her and me. She took my neck in her mouth not to hurt, but to hold, to say: "I am here..." and "I need this." And I needed it too. So I let her take what she needed: a slow, wet reclaiming her gift not of arching pain, mine of trust, stillness, bed staining. And I did not flinch. As I offered her all the salt of me, she now rests sleeping, deep inside me.
