I wish to see you all grow safe & loved before I too must run among the packs of my elders & you next become elders.

The sense of love and engagement from the audience was palpable. I am so proud of the Therians of Seattle and so glad I found you and that we were all audience and artists alike were able to create a space that we could just be… well… our truest selves!

My final artwork for this advent cycle. Week 4: The Holy Family: “A little one among us: God is with us”
A little one among us; God with-us reimagines the Nativity through the lens of creaturely-sensitivity and embodied life. At the centre sits the white pup with a golden halo, representing the Christ Child - small, vulnerable, and radiant with divine presence. Two wolves curve around the child in a sheltering arc, forming a circle of care. Instead of Joseph and Mary, the natural world steps forward as guardian and witness, expressing the truth that Christ's birth blesses not only humanity but the whole of creation. Joseph looks on in joy at his Holy Family, Mary is resting after her labours and the Christ-as-wolf pup is sleeping. Rather than depicting a traditional Nativity scene, this piece emphasises that the Incarnation is God's entry into all embodied life. By placing the Holy Child within the embrace of creatures, the image highlights a core Episcopal conviction that God often meets us through the material world- through water, bread and wine, oil, and embodied life itself. Because God works through created things, the world is regarded with reverence, a grace-bearing part of God's creation. The Christ child held by creation itself reflects a belief that the world God created is not passive in salvation but responsive and alive. The wolf-family stand as symbols of the other-than-human world receiving, guarding, and honouring the Incarnate One. Their posture echoes the Holy Family's tenderness while expanding the frame beyond traditional boundaries. While many depictions include animals as witnesses in the stable, it is far less common for artists to let God's other creations embody the roles of guardians or family. This image follows a less-trodden devotional path-not replacing the human story, but widening it-portraying a Nativity in which the natural world gathers around Christ with the same reverence, protection, and love. This invites us to see the Incarnation as intimate and expansive: a God who comes in smallness, a world that bends toward that holiness in…
