Surprise: Sega is struggling to justify the baffling decision to acquire Angry Bird developer Rovio for over $700M in 2023.

Props to them though for trying to get it to work instead of taking the L and closing the whole studio down (as Western game companies would have done)

Chat, I have until 10:00 to decide whether I want to buy a Switch 2 or not (Nintendo store lottery deadline). Love Nintendo but no new game caught my attention yet - really afraid that this console generation will see price increases rather than discounts as time goes by.
Should I pull the trigger?

WSJ: “.. If the AI market blows up, the blast radius would be wide, hitting not only Wall Street firms, but also pensions, mutual and exchange-traded funds and individual investors, because of how debt is often sliced and resold across the financial landscape.”

Life hack: go to Denny’s at 10:50 and order a breakfast menu set - bam, brunch for a decent price (depending on your choice, less than 1k yen) with drink bar included.
Great value for money IMO

Happens so much in gaming now. Yes, video games have always adopted new tech, and AI like machine learning has been a part of that. Hell, Rogue used generative algorithms in the 80s.

But the use of GenAI in gaming is new, and quite different. Although companies using it love to say it isn't.
Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.

if we take it to be true that the tariffs are aimed at getting americans to buy US-made products, then what's the point of rolling them back when they become painful? the entire point is to cause financial pain to change consumer behavior. what's the strategy here?

I truly sympathize with her as she is facing a lot of pressure to actually deliver being the first female PM.

That being said, going backwards on the overwork routine that plagued Japan for decades is not welcome no matter how you look at it.
Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said on Thursday she only sleeps for between two and four hours every night, while she also faces criticism for encouraging people to overwork. 👉 ebx.sh/Fz6bpx
