What a great nugget of Black History! This reminds me of all the poorest rural black communities throughout this country who live in close connection and with a deep abiding care, for each other and the land that is nurtured by theirs hands to sustain themselves. #blackhistorymonth
I was one of those kids that got fed. They didn't care what color you were or about your income, they just did the right thing and I have never forgotten it. We were too poor to afford breakfast.
