The reason there hasn't been a grand ballroom at the White House is because it's supposed to be the residence and office space/place of business of a citizen president. Not an imperial palace.

Really wanted to attend the local No Kings rally today. Unfortunately, I made a poor dinner decision last night combined with some bad luck and ended up spending the better part of the day glued to the toilet. I hope my fellow protesters appreciate me not subjecting them to be around me during this.

I saw Return of the Jedi in theaters in its original run in 1983, and I swear I remember that when they first fly over the sarlac it was closed and then opened up kind of like a flower, unfurling its tentacles. I have never seen this since, not even in the special editions.

Again, I hate going down the conspiracy rabbit hole or promoting any kind of conspiracy theory, but the more details that keep coming out about the Dallas ICE detention center shooting, the more Gleiwitz-y it smells. (Look up the Gleiwitz Incident, if you don't know what I'm talking about).

Trump went on a celebratory posting spree about his civil fraud ruling getting tossed out. In several lengthy Truth Social posts, he incorrectly claimed the court had voted “5 to 0” in his favor (it did not) and that “every single dollar was thrown out” (which is also untrue).

James Dobson is dead. I was lucky in that, even though my father was more conservative, he didn't listen to or subscribe to Dobson's teaching, but I witnessed others whose parents did and the damage it did. So, I post this with all due respect (and I really mean all the respect that is due).
