✡️ and loud about it. Pretty good with words. He/Him.
It’s going to vary by stream of Judaism, to be sure. Reform and Conservative/Masorti are the most likely to feel familiar. And then, on the far end, a Chabad is going to have everyone off davening in their own corners until it’s time for a prayer that needs minyan.

Joyce Carol Goates.

The “g” is silent.

Mind, the Jewish canon is pretty much an explicit rejection of this. It posits an interaction with such evidence where we actually come away with a renewed inward focus. Might be part of why Lovecraft was such a fervent antisemite and racist. People who’d had his core realization and rejected it.

This is kind of the basis of cosmic horror. The realization that we’re so insignificant nothing we do could possibly matter, and that, after encountering evidence of this utter futility, you still have to go back to a society that pretends at us having significance.

Nah, pretty sure it’s the disingenuous fuck pretending the issue is something other than what he actually said who’s a fucking loser.

It’s you. You’re the disingenuous fuck.

I inserted myself to provide clarification. You’ve made it very clear that your only interest is in exercising your degradation kink, so I’m happily obliging.

Shall I step on you, next?

The issue with this is that your first two words are an objective lie.
November 10, 2025 at 7:17 AM
Aww, your precious little ego won’t let you actually learn anything, much less acknowledge your ignorance.

I can’t even begin to imagine how miserable living like that would be.

“Den of thieves” is a specific reference to Jeremiah, in which that exact phrase refers to using the Temple to try to avoid accountability for bad actions done elsewhere.

It has nothing to do with money changing or selling sacrificial animals at the Temple.

Then you shouldn’t have weighed in on a conversation that first and foremost affects the Jewish community. Stay in your lane.

I don’t even apply this logic to a swastika. It’s also a religious symbol, and I’m not going to be triggered every time I get to dungeon three in the first NES Zelda.

Like, I don’t get uncomfortable around churches and crosses because I fear I’m missing out on Jesus. It’s 100% because there’s millennia of precedent for them targeting my people in particular.

Meanwhile, I have no such negative mental association with the star and crescent.

Often, yes.

Because, if it’s antisemitism, why is him condemning it at all an issue?

“False flag” is the easiest way to avoid having to do any introspection.
November 8, 2025 at 8:17 PM
It reads to me as at odds with what came before. Like he’s acknowledged that using AI has serious issues, and calls it “bad behavior,” and then is like “well, I guess if they use it carefully, it’s fine.”

“I’m too important to waste my time responding to you or reading up on a topic. LLM, do it for me. Chop chop.”
November 7, 2025 at 3:36 PM
And it hit me that these people don’t love LLMs because they think they’ll produce stuff on the level of bespoke human creativity. They love them because it gives them a subservient laborer that can’t turn them down.

It’s that fantasy of superiority and control.

Shibboleths on shibboleths.

Not sure why I'm even bothering, though. Someone who thinks "slandering" someone who is in some way marginalized is automatically engaging in bigotry on the basis of their marginalized identities is not someone who understands marginalization.
November 6, 2025 at 3:26 AM
But I never said words couldn't change. As I said, they mean what they're USED to mean, and change as that changes. Choosing, arbitrarily, to define them in a way that flouts their common usage is just a vanity project, and you apparently ARE that vain.
November 6, 2025 at 3:24 AM
Maybe if you're intellectually lazy, and willing to place your personal comfort and convenience over the basic humanity of marginalized communities.

You DO seem like that sort of person, though. Not surprised.
