Yes to all.
Perhaps even the cover of a birding notebook.
You could use some of the bird families —hummingbirds, parrots, warblers—to enjoy the rich colors and feather details. For ex, this cropped section would make a lovely card.

Yesterday I held a sign designed by an anonymous furloughed fed.
Thank you!
They are still struggling as are the many more Feds who were unlawfully fired. This is a DC area focused sheet with resources, and you can add to it, docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Today is the last day at the NEH for me and many of my amazingly dedicated colleagues. We did our best to represent & serve the American people. To champion humanities research, teaching, public engagement, cultural heritage, infrastructure, and innovation.

Public Engagement and Innovation, oh yeah! Loved seeing this NEH poster, made for a Congressional Showcase of DH work back in the 2010s, one last time in the @neh-odh.bsky.social team room. The Mall Histories team was so proud.

It’s really hard for me to sit still sometimes. This week’s #b2b birding assignment is sitting for 60 minutes (!) and creating a data set not captured thru eBird.
Here’s my spot for today (not in my patch).

Happy to spend part of my day celebrating food history at NMAH, listening to Julia Child Awardees, Sean Sherman and Alice Waters.

It’s a great day for a book launch! Challenging Stories: Exploring the Intersections between Health and Humanities is a result of a collab between National Library of Medicine & the NEH. Congrats to the team at VA Tech, led by Tom Ewing & Priyanka Ganguli for this new OA edited collection.

Back again at the Rockefeller Library hearing the 2022 cohort’s progress since the last institute. Hearing how everyone learned & applied lessons across their teaching & research. Also, how life happens, jobs and plans change, and the work continues in diff forms.
